Oh, hi you guys-
This is feels a bit ridiculous, pompous, self-indulgent even. But, this is not about me, actually. This is an invitation for you to grab a blanket, a warm cup of tea, sit by the fireplace or your favorite candle, and sink into my first poetry collection, Black holes and gypsy hearts are forever. May you let love in through your iron heart. With an abundance of gratitude to everyone who did their part to bring this book to your attention, I invite you to explore this collection with an open mind and an open heart. Wherever you are, I hope you find what you are looking for, and enjoy the journey.
If you like what you read, you are welcome to find me on Instagram @andonova and check out the calendar of events if you want to come and say hello. The collection is available on BN.com and Amazon, and several independent bookstores. I will also do my best to provide signed equity copies to local organizations to make sure that those who might otherwise not be able to afford a copy have an opportunity to take a peek.
Please do not hesitate to reach out if you feel inspired to do so.
Forever yours,
Damiana

Damiana Andonova’s fine poems explore passion, curiosity, and the human search for meaning in life. Her imaginative love poems take us on a journey from ecstasy to deep regret, a fiery journey from which we all emerge, “not burnt, scalded, but forged,” stronger and wiser. Yet, this poet grounds the journey in even larger, cosmic dimensions. Just as black holes and quantum physics seemingly defy the laws of reason, our personal search for meaning carries us beyond rational answers. Andonova asks the reader to abandon the familiar in search of the unknown. “I thought you were the story,” she confesses, “but now I see you were only the prologue.” In poems full of vibrant images, she discovers meaning in empathy, compassion, connection. In the end, our “life is not a weight to lift / But a gift divine.”
